Former Residents Tell Of Their Experience at City Campus
Neasa, Irish Student
When the time came to picking our third year accommodation, there was no question that it would be City Campus. The comfort of knowing you’re in a secure location while also being within walking distance of college and the city is fantastic. Location is everything when it comes to picking accommodation and campus really is the best of both worlds.
“The option of the shuttle bus to and from Mary I is great for those days it’s too cold or for those early mornings after a late night!! Another key element to City Campus is their excellent staff. The reception staff are saints and it is great to know that they are always there when there is a problem, be it big, small or stupid. Its great to be able to walk into reception to see a friendly face! The security men, Shane and James, are also just fantastic!
The craic around campus is second to none. Its almost like a small village where there is constantly something happening. Whether you are just calling down to a friend for tea or watching the boys out on the grass kicking a ball, City Campus is a hive of activity. I also like the way in which the courtyards are spilt. Its nice to be around your own year group but equally great to be able to mix with those younger and older in different courtyards. I can guarantee you’ll always meet a familiar face around the place! Its well known that you will never fail to find somebody to join you on a night on the town around the place too!
The apartments themselves are lovely and cosy. Having your own room with a desk and chair is extremely handy when work has to be done! The apartments are equipped with everything you’ll need so the pressure really is off when it comes to moving it. Being able to request to live with friends is also an amazing facility to have.
All in all, I really couldn’t recommend City Campus enough! I have had the most amazing time and have hundreds of great memories from City Campus that I will never forget. Although my college life is soon coming to an end, I’m sure the up and coming students will have just as much fun, and will love it, just as much as we all did. Enjoy every second of the Campus experience!! It truly was the perfect home away from home.”
Lene, International Student
My name is Lene and I arrived from Norway in late January. My first impression of the apartment was that was big and cozy and as I was going to live with three other girls I got very happy when I saw we had two bathrooms..
“I have felt safe through the whole stay, because of the security and it is nice to have someone here in the weekends if something should occur. It was really nice to have my own room and space, because everybody want to be alone sometime during a stay like this and the room is big and plenty of room to put your belongings.
I do not regret staying here and I recommend it if you are going to study at MIC, because everything is included and you do not have to worry about anything when you arrive.”
Siobhain, Postgraduate Student
Very helpful and obliging staff!!!
“As a postgraduate student, City Campus was very accommodating in facilitating my needs. Great location for accessing town centre, local buses and the train station, which made travelling to and from the University of Limerick very easy.”
Charina, International Student
My name is Charina Heuving and I am an international student from the Netherlands. Before I came to Ireland I didn’t wanted to stay at City Campus, because I didn’t wanted to stay with Irish room-mates. But I couldn’t find anything else so I decided I should do it. And I am so glad I did!
“I had a wonderful time here at City Campus, my roommates are very nice and involve me in everything. If there is something wrong, a security/maintenance guy is there for us on very short notice. The lovely women at the reception are there for us during the day to answer all of our questions.
On nights out the taxis will be at the gates to transfer all the people to the centre. There is a path behind the buildings that is used for running and there is a lot of room to park your car. Living at City Campus feels for me like a long holiday. Parties, everything you need and people to help you with questions and the things that you need.”
Anna, Erasmus Student
The accommodation is a perfect place to live and have fun at the same time!
“In a convenient location for Mary I Students, close to the Bus Station and only a 10-15 minutes’ walk to the city centre, with spacious, cosy and fully-furnished apartments for four people. Whenever I needed something the ladies at the reception, the caretaker or Security Guards were available and very helpful. Also as Erasmus Student it is a great chance to meet local people and make new friends.”
Mia, Exchange Student
My name is Mia, and I have been an exchange student at Mary Immaculate College this semester.
“I arrived in Limerick in January, and I stayed at City Campus until the end of April, when I went back to Norway. I am very happy with the facilities, the standard and the service at City Campus, and I would certainly recommend staying here.
You can walk to Mary I. in approximately 10 minutes, and the city centre is only 15 minutes away. I have had my own private room with enough space to do my work, and I have also had a great opportunity to be social and make new friends at the campus.”
